The present short story is believed to have been written around 1908-1909 and is currently lost. Its existence is proven by the fact that Christie lent a copy of the script to author Eden Phillpotts, who replied: "All is going exceedingly well with your work ... if you can write like this now you might go far".

It should appear with all desirable clarity that Christie de facto not only met but also exceeded the above mentioned expectations.
