The short story is first published in Flynn's Weekly on November 20 in 1926 (Vol. XIX, No. 6) under the title World's End.

In the UK the short story is first published in The Story-Teller Magazine in 1927 (No. 238) sub-headed The Magic of Mr Quin with the same title as in US magazine.

In book form, the short story is represented in:

The Mysterious Mr Quin 1930 (British Edition)
Published in the US later the same year: American Edition.
