.

In the US the short story is first published in The Blue Book Magazine in September 1925 (Vol. 41, No. 5) under the title The Clapham Cook.

The short story has also been published under the title Find the Cook in Ellery Queen's Mystery Magazine (US) in 1956 (Vol. 27, No. 2).
