Den första - korta - versionen är ursprungligen publicerad i brittiska The Sketch Magazine 1923 Nummer 1611 (12 December) som del tolv i den andra serien av The Grey Cells of M. Poirot under titeln The Adventure of the Christmas Pudding. Förevarande version sedermera även publicerad under titeln Christmas Adventure.

Den andra - längre - och endast lätt reviderade versionen är ursprungligen publicerad i den brittiska novellsamlingen
The Adventure of the Christmas Pudding and a Selection of Entrées 1960 under titeln The Adventure of the Christmas Pudding.
